I believe that both are important sources of innovation. Ingenuity is important in helping to conjure up new and creative solutions which can be used to solve problems. Meanwhile, survival is important in keeping us alive and pushing us to think of new and creative ways to keep ourselves and others safe. Both are essential factors in helping to drive invention and progress.
