I can understand the legalities of ownership by Disney/Pixar for artistic services, voice, pics, etc. from stars and their estates.
It's the "going back through unused lines to see what can be applied" in a new movie that strikes me. Watching Cars 3, I kept wondering where his lines came from. I imagine editors going through Cars cutting room floor film and handing writers a reel saying "see what you can use." Feels off somehow.
