So , in the 1700's europe had this food revolution right , where they did some smart shit and were able to make more food per farm labourer.
More food per farm labourer meant more people overall (increade in population) but less farm labourers, so the country hicks made their way into the cities looking for shit to do.
Cities started getting crowded , and getting disease and shit , so advances in sanitation were made (necessity being the mother of all invention and all), not an issue , everyone come to the city, get your chai lattes.
Thats apparantly how the industrial revolution happened, and then they started making like , trains and shit.
Trains brought all of the new inventions and medcine to other countrys that didnt have them.
Other countries were like "industrialisation is cool, I want all this shit like railways and factorys and whatever" , but they got a taste for the medicine and the new methods of production BEFORE they did all the smart shit to make more food, so the only way they could do it was by basically telling people "hey , you're going to do with less food now, put up and shut up" , not only that , but they couldnt produce all the shit they needed to make an industrial revolution starter pack , so they had to be in europes debt . so ...

Little history lesson for ya.
