Black Mirror had a few episodes about this, particularly the one I'm thinking of: "USS Callister" (and the episode that follows it, though the ending made no sense).
Even if we ignore the moral implications, whenever I hear "mind upload," that's the only thing that comes to mind, and honestly, to me that's the least of our worries. In a way, that's actually an overly optimistic view of the technology; it doesn't even consider the fact that we would be SOFTWARE running inside COMPUTERS. Anyone who has written even just a few lines of code should know how truly terrifying that is.
ESPECIALLY today, where software is getting worse and worse by the day because "muh vibes".
