I’m kind of a sucker for RomCom movies. Always have been.
So last night, because you know... PrideMonth, I went back to one I haven’t seen in a while.
Boy Meets Girl (2014) starring Michelle Hendley, Michael Welch and Alexandra Turshen.
I forgot how much I really love this movie. It’s SO sweeeeet. I mean, yeah, it's ten years old and there are a few problematic errors in the writing here and there but still... overall, a really sweet movie.
A trans girl, Ricky, (played by a trans actress by the way) is the center of the story arch. It's set in a small southern town. She lives with her dad, who adores his daughter and she is helping to raise her much younger brother. Robby is her best friend and has been there for her since they were six years old. Early in the movie, Ricky meets a new friend, Francesca, who is not only accepting and defends Ricky but is also Ricky’s first girl-crush.
If you like a decent RomCom. Give it a try. Streaming on Bezo’s site if you have Prime.
A little heads up… brief frontal nudity of a trans girl and her Princess Wand.
