tonight I will take Poast offline for maybe 5-6 minutes to apply emergency security patches and hardening and installing a new mainline kernel to both the database and backend servers. estimated around 00:00 EDT 2023-08-08

during this time we will also address the recent Zenbleed exploit which effects Zen2 CPUs such as the one we use in the servers that power poast (7B12). more details can be found here.

while we don’t generally expect anything to go awry, there is always the chance so we are scheduling a one hour maintenance window to complete all activities related to these security patches.
