Story time:
A while back a friend of mine launched a "how to grow on twitter" course - but it wasn't named that obviously. It was actually pretty good and included some solid advice - even how to hack the trending sections, something him and I were doing for a while. We could trend almost any time we wished. It was all down to a simple formula.
The course content was good for everyone and you didn't need to be an influencer to take advantage of it. He did well in sales because he had a reputation for trending daily. I don't recall the exact pricing but it was something like $79 for this thing.
As a joke and to bust his balls a bit, I expanded the course content based on everything I knew, BUT, instead of "do this" I wrote it as a "Don't buy this Twitter course" and reversed all of the advice. Basically, if you did the oppose of what I told you, you'd grow your following on Twitter. Also, just to screw with him, I priced it at $1.
I then announced this thing and everyone had a good laugh. Of course, since it was $1 and titled "Don't buy this thing" nobody bought it.
To this day, the reverse advice of that guide is pretty solid and applicable to marketing any business on text-based socials. I don't fancy marketing it because it was always a joke and I could care less. I just thought it was funny that it's out there for $1, and spells out exactly how to grow a brand, while people are paying $70+ for a gimped version.
