Technically the USD went bust on the 10 June 2023, when the US hit $31.4T debt ceiling. After that point, they can no longer raise enough in taxes to repay the yield on bonds.
Historically all fiat currencies, over the last 700 years, have died within 15 years of that event, meaning the USD should be dead by June 2038.
