Problem is that they aren't necessarily being that rational.
I've talked to some influential people in the podcasting space that hate Bitcoin, and they won't even consider adopting parts of tech innovation that have an association to something involving Bitcoin (like Podcasting 2.0), but have nothing to do with the payment aspects. (ex: Podcasting 2.0 chapters).
My hunch is that they either see it as assisting the enemy, or if they understand the above differentiation, that they fear backlash from others who don't. They believe Bitcoin is boiling the oceans, and is a threat to the world, so they radically don't want anything even remotely connected to Bitcoin, to succeed.
