#WordWeavers Do you write primarily in the genre you read as a child?
I was an omnivore reader as a child. I mean, everything. Whatever book was around whatever house, I read it. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had no discernment. Now, I've written tons of essays, radio commentaries, memoir, magazine articles, a book on using found objects in art, a writing "how to," and novels in fantasy, mystery, literary, Southern humor, and a legal thriller. So, yeah--I write exactly the way I read.
