People act shocked when there is a shark sighting in Florida. A good rule of thumb for the state: If you see water, taste it. If it's salty, there are sharks in in. If it is not salty, there are alligators in it. Then there are those gators and sharks who like to hang out in brackish water. Best advice is to avoid Florida entirely.
