Few things make my blood boil as fast as when companies lay off people because their *profits* shrank.
That’s one of the most pathetic and reckless reasons to affect other people’s lives.
Laying off people should generally be the last option, not the first.
I’m not much calmed by the fact that companies inherit increasingly consternated and disloyal workforces in return.
