My dad had more than one HP 12C but a friend in highschool had the HP48GX I think it was?

Meanwhile many students seemed to have the TI graphing calculators which had a BASIC and some wrote mandelbrot sets and such with that functionality.
I forget which model Casio I had, it did graphing but was not programmable in any meaningful manner like having a BASIC interpreter.
