#WritersCoffeeClub 1/17: Biggest fears for the writing world in 2025?
Corporate dominance and AI theft/fraud is up there, but I'm more concerned for readers in general.
It feels like we're barrelling towards a Huxleyian (hey! I made up a word!) world where misinformation comes so fast that truth is rendered meaningless. I worry people will be so distracted by junk "writing" that books will be too much for the average reader to focus on and we suffer a plague of functional illiteracy.
