saying that proprietary software is bad and shouldn't be used is just too obvious, but I keep wondering why it has to be so poor quality, fragile, bloated, etc.
perhaps because mono- and oligopolism — it always leads to bad results but with proprietary s/w it's especially easy to set in
then again what am I supposed to do about it
- donate time and/or money to the FLOSS alternatives
- invest into reverse-engineering: learn it myself and get to know the experts and specialists in this
- what else
