I never use the latest and greatest hardware wallets for significant stacks out of the box.
I buy those that interest me, initialize on a fresh OS install, fund with sushi dinner money and shelve them for at least a year to see if any drama unfolds (both publically with the wallet and personally with my test funds).
I am risk adverse when it comes to my bitcoin and always keep that phrase "F around and find out" in mind.
