I have both „ Show threads in timeline“ in general settings, as well as „ Rrerse threads“ in the Advanced settings turned on, because I always read in reverse order oldest to newest. However, if I encounter such a thread, VoiceOver says 2/2 to the older post, and 1/2 to the newer one. I would expect, since I reversed them, and they appear in the correct order, that the older one would be 1/2 and the newer one 2/2.
