“Freedom of speech” means that the *Government* won’t prevent someone from saying something.
It does not absolve anyone of the repercussions of what they say and does not preclude the *community* from censuring someone for hate speech.
Collectively we seem to rise up in anger if someone cuts down a favored tree, lets their dog roam where it’s not supposed to, or paints their house an unusual color. We should do the same for bigotry.
