Nostr is not about profits or losses.
The point of zapping is showing support or appreciation via transfer of the scarcest asset on earth.

Lots of our user base have been around since the beginning, and back then, zaps flew. Many of us cannot afford to constantly zap notes.

I would like it if nostr was not viewed as a social media platform where users expect to earn income to sustain themselves. More, a platform where what PoW you provide may or may not land you just a little more BTC to put in your wallet. Where PoW of other users motivates you to share sats from that very same wallet.

For those who saw that I’m not receiving or sending many zaps right now, here’s why.

I have been zapping a lot of people for as long as I can remember, I have loved doing that but it’s gotten to the point where I’m getting massive engagement on each note many begging for sats or bot replies hunting for zaps.

It’s gotten quite annoying because something I used to like doing with friends has turned into a gimme issue where I’m constantly getting begged for sats even on non related notes. Don’t know why, I really don’t send that much.


But now I’m going to see what my engagement looks like after I haven’t been zapping, who still sticks around.
