"content": "You would think that a bone-dry 99 F (37 C) day wouldn't be the best time to shoot sparks at creosote-soaked railroad ties. Apparently Norfolk-Southern (the company that owns the rails) thought different yesterday. The local volunteer fire department is dealing with the resulting fires.\n\nI hear from my son that the railroad is still smoldering, and is so hot that the interior of a car becomes noticeably hotter when driving over it.\n\n#barboursville #rail #trains #NorfolkSouthern\nhttps://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/112/762/815/101/283/652/original/351b17b465ded012.jpg\n",
