The netshsm accepts anything for certificates (which is fine it's just data storage), but we never document whether it's expected to be a PEM or a DER file.\n\nThe PKCS11 module only works with PEM files. Since this was not documented I wanted to know if it's a good idea to sniff for the preamble to know which encoding it is and support both. But this proves it's a bad idea.",
