Yes. Its a fair conclusion. We're in a post truth world. There are people who believe you can prove anything with facts, and people like Trump gaslighting to exploit this. We don't win arguments by being correct, we win arguments by setting the narrative.
There are many who voted for Brexit in 2016 who still believe that Brexit was the right decision, because to recognise it was a disaster for the UK requires them to accept they were stupid / hoodwinked or both.
