But take a look at the values that propel the people who show up at these conventions. Look at the superstars who emerge not from the corporate machines of the national committees, but out of their own charismatic representation of their journeys and hopes. Look at your own dreams and then tell me that both of these parties give voice to them—or pervert them—in just the same ways.
