Narbray (npub1zs3…hlqa) notice they explicitly mention feature updates (android 1X) NOT security updates. they will get the standard Android Security Bulletin but not firmware security update all that time because SoC manufacturer like Qualcomm only offer them for a limited time (1-3 years) or a lot of money (which is why only Google and Samsung offer +3 years of support).
