That's the scenario I see addressed most commonly in the self defense classes friends have taught around here.
I don't think you need some kind of hardcore MMA training, but anything past the point where some fucker has already decided to grab hold of you (for whatever purpose) is probably useful knowledge for everyone to be acquiring ASAP.
