I've never liked the idea of living in the US full time or becoming a permanent resident, and it's not something I've ever considered.
Despite that, I've come to think of Vegas as my second home.
We stay in the US for the winters because being in warmer climates is a significant quality of life improvement for my wife, who has MS and is cold sensitive. We also have a big German Shepherd who we can't travel with.
These days, though, it's feeling a lot less like home, and I'm doubtful we'll return next year unless something drastic changes. I don't know what we'll do, but it's hard to see us coming back if this shit continues.
