the pedant in me does have to acknowledge that sumerians probably didn't know about coffee and there's no written record of coffee's existence anywhere in the world until the 15th century, although early modern writers did try unsuccessfully to tie coffee consumption to events in homer's poems in order to prove to christian authorities that it was ok to drink and not a demonic islamic beverage, and ethiopia, where coffee is from, was both mentioned in the odyssey and just generally well-known to the ancient world, so idk theoretically it's not impossible
