if the bike got stolen (bikes get stolen and this one looked a very smart bit of kit) then they’d still have to keep paying no doubt,
and similarly if it ended up in an accident or got broken or suchlike, they’d still have to keep paying
(unless the rental sorry I mean subscription incorporated a kind of insurance component, and if it does you know that won’t be cheap)
