I'll just note that I replaced my official switch controller joysticks, and I have next to zero repair skills on hardware of that kind. The smallest device I've taken apart was a moderate sized laptop from 2012 or so that had easy access once removing the keyboard.
It was pretty easy and only took about an hour. I can look up the guide I used if you want, it may have been on The Verge.
