And if it ends up in court, judges actually make MORE effort to interpret your words into the correct legal framework than they would if you had a lawyer.
All you have to do is:
1. Be completely honest and transparent
2. Assume good faith and write with the aim of solving the issue amicably
3. DON'T write like a lawyer: don't be threatening, don't be intimidating, don't use stupid latin lawyer-words because you don't *actually* know what they mean.
