My young adult niece just moved into her first apartment with a couple of roommates, has had a rude awakening, and showed me a long list of grievances she was going to email them that I advised her to delete immediately. Currently she’s staying in my guest room for a couple of weeks, filling in for my vacationing horse whisperer. This afternoon I found on my kitchen counter a congealed bowl of boxed mac and cheese, assorted empty soda cans and food wrappers, and an open bag of Trader Joe’s tortilla chips.
