Always stagger your crimp connections if you can.



Doing this keeps the joint streamlined making it easier to get shrink tube over the joints and as another layer of "OOPS" protection in the unlikely case that one wire's shrink tube wears through or it gets cut. Also, use adhesive lined shrink tube for most things that are exposed to vibration, moisture, and dust.

For those that want to know what I was doing, I was pulling out ratty wiring a previous owner installed for some cheap LED pods. They directly tied them to the reverse light wiring, and the pods were dying, so, I pulled out the rats nest and will add in new backup lights once I fiddle around and figure out a better, cleaner, and more durable fashion.
