I guess. Politics and religion are often deeply interwoven and hype up each other. Someone who's right wing will use the Bible to justify their bigotry but they'll ignore the better teachings of generosity and forgiveness. I've never sincerely see someone convert and change their mind of certain issues because the Bible says something different.
