Piet Mondrian. Pier & Ocean (Composition 10), 1915.
Should we prefer decaying authenticity or an original vision restored? It's the age-old question of artists and architects alike. Even during my lifetime, this #Painting seems to have changed. I was so attracted to it as a kid, but now many versions online seem more yellow than sea-salt gray. "10" is the product of a series of extant experiments which give us a rare record of his process. We can now add 108 years to the experiment.
