Well, reality shows that whatever condition is needed is not reached. It was not int32 overflow, or they would have started by now... this logic reminds me of someone you would not want to be in a thread with ;-)
I guess not much discussion is needed here. Suggesting stuff that did not happen will soon happen for no specific reason belongs in the realm of religion.

I suggest this is massively driven by lack of agency, a systemic rather than an individual choice. Just today i bought something packaged wastefully... because the other choices were overpriced or packaged so large i would have had to toss 50%+ of it.
