Mummy Liuquan is an ancient Chinese mummy that was discovered in 2007 in Xinjiang province. According to radiocarbon tests, the mummy is believed to be over 1000 years old. It is the best-preserved mummy from the Northern Silk Road area and is the only known naturally-preserved mummy from the region. Discovered by a local shepherd, the mummy is well-preserved due to the hot, dry climate in the area. The mummy is wrapped in several layers of silk and is wearing colorful clothing. Its facial features, hands, and feet are also still clearly visible.
