It's getting worse over time.
Indeed, as I type this there are workers outside removing the perfectly good asphalt on our street to replace it with new asphalt. There were no potholes, this was last done just seven years ago and the street surface is in near perfect condition, but it's scheduled and thus must be done.
I live as sustainably as I can, but I am still a part of the country around me, wasteful as it is.
