Romantic relationships tend to end in a breakup ("until death do us apart" isn't that realistic) and then that's that.
Friendships can also end in a breakup, but they interestingly don't break that easily. Why, one might ask. I think, it's because the people in it have their own space, not everything is part of that relationship and has to fit in.
