I love that the CBC is no longer pulling punches.

“Trump told reporters Tuesday that Ford is "a very strong man" who he respects. He said the premier was a "gentleman" when he spoke with Lutnick.

But Trump doesn't respect Canada enough to drop the tariffs entirely.”

So it looks like Ford and Canada’s Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc will meet Trump officials Thursday.

We’ll see if this week’s punch in the gut by Ford, and subsequent threat+climb down from Trump works to actually move the needle on the issue as a whole or if Ford and LeBlanc will return on Thursday with tariffs still in place.

If that happens, then Ford has to put the electricity charge back on on Monday.

It obviously got a reaction. Which means Canada *does indeed* have lots of leverage to play with here. Lots of cards on the table in Quebec, Ontario, Atlantic Canada, BC, and the nuclear option… Alberta oil (if we can convince Smith’s party to leave her in Florida)
