Atheism as it exists in the West is very Christian in character. It comes from an attitude something like "Christ isn't Christian enough, the world isn't redeemed! I can do better than him!"
Otherwise you'd expect more of a return to pagan master morality (whether or not that entails literal gods) but we're still very much operating under a totalitarian slave morality, arguably one invented by the Christians.
