Does anyone have an actual source for the "Google deletes internal mail after 6 months" story?
The state of document rentention requirements was this 19 years ago:
https://money.cnn.com/2005/08/30/news/fortune500/morganstanley/index.htm - note that the case dealt with email that was over 6 years old at that point & related to unfair allocations of tech stock at IPO.
I know b/c I was the guy who had to cover for some of the folks who got pulled off their regular work to help the search for missing emails.
What has changed?
