i just finally noticed there is a "block untunneled traffic" button in windows wireguard
was kinda getting annoying not being able to access my router or local network printer, and i'd made that two-level chained wireguard setup partly to bypass being unable to access the the other machine on the same LAN as well
still, it's better having an always-on machine on the lan that runs a wireguard, doesn't matter if i change the router configurations the wireguard addresses will be stable and route on the LAN, and i can still jump straight on to the second level wireguard network from any point in the local WG subnet
