Who knows their frozen water (as in frozen lakes and ponds and such).
We've walked down to the lake (Lake Garda which borders the towns of Farmington and Burlington, CT) and it's mostly frozen with a few spots still unfrozen where the swans swim etc.
The last two days there's been some really wild noises coming from underneath the ice that are fascinating to me, and perplexing to the dogs' ears.
Could this be the wind hitting the unfrozen spots and thus creating ripples under the ice which then make contact with the underside of the ice making these odd and really cool (and sometimes eerie) sounds?
Thoughts?
I should take my phone down there at some point and just let it record for a while to see if it captures the sounds for you all.
