To fix the problem of the whole world having entanglements with the whole of the rest of the world that caused the outbreak of the world wars, the solution was to further entangle everyone into a United Nations?
Seems to me that you could prevent global war by just dissolving all your entanglements and just leaving everyone else alone, and making sure you can bomb the shit out of anyone that tries to poke you.
