What's crazy is that these were clearly long established tunnels built by people long ago with actual equipment. I assume the jews in question here merely burrowed their way back into them from that 770 building, through an entrance that had been previously patched over. I would guess these tunnels had varied mundane usages originally, but who knows what they were doing with them. Personally, I imagine it's less horrifying than people are assuming, but you can't blame people for speculating the worst when it comes to these vermin.
