Suppose though if you are at all inclined then you could always rent out a VPS like Linode and deploy a Minecraft server through that. I've heard they have preset server configurations for specific stuff like Minecraft so you can get one up and running without much trouble and have far more autonomy than you might otherwise have using Realms.
