Yes, that's true of any chart that draws lines between points including standard line charts (implies linear change). My aim here is to visualise the same data set 30 different ways as a way to learn more Observable and today's prompt was a slope chart
The interactive version highlights this when hovering over a line better. I don't think changing line type here would make much difference since all lines would then just be dashed (though I do use dashed lines for e.g. forecasts)
