"content": "This is your seasonal reminder that all acorns are edible. Some need processing, others do not. \n\nIn October, I will do a thread on Southern Live Oak, Quercus virginiana. These don’t need processing but do need to be steamed in their shells to remove the nut. Last year, house moths ate most of mine so they need to be well-sealed and frozen after shelling. \n\n#foraging #NativePlants #gardening #jardin #cooking #FoodPorn #trees #arbol #acorns #plants nostr:npub1p9hxd3g330yqj24pk9j2r6g52acdhnu3mkf7caddq7dz25keq2ss8ln3uq #FoodSecurity #Permaculture\n\nhttps://s3.eu-central-2.wasabisys.com/mastodonworld/media_attachments/files/111/133/645/246/948/400/original/339b4b79a8da6305.jpeg\n\nhttps://s3.eu-central-2.wasabisys.com/mastodonworld/media_attachments/files/111/133/645/402/687/409/original/489343d6d1933049.jpeg\n\nhttps://s3.eu-central-2.wasabisys.com/mastodonworld/media_attachments/files/111/133/645/647/616/673/original/f47de94f3280b47a.jpeg\n\nhttps://s3.eu-central-2.wasabisys.com/mastodonworld/media_attachments/files/111/133/645/895/261/521/original/4d5a3f3e9c2b655c.jpeg",
