The reason that was taught to me in med school (not in the text books) was because of the smegma that builds up beneath the foreskin, which supposedly is associated with higher rates of cancer, get this, in women (cervical cancer). I remember thinking why would nature give us foreskin then, as if it was some type of cruel joke.
