Update on my #selfhosted adventures
#Docker is a devil's bargain. Perceived simplicity and abstraction, no matter how computationally lightweight, never come without a price.
I've sorted that out to my meager satisfaction (until I figure out how to get some bare metal in the game...), but here is a piece of advice:
If you're going to rent a VPS to stand up a service which is distributed via docker images, make sure your hosting provider has a separate firewall function available.
